Let's go in order to review this place. Arriving in the sunny square of San Giovanni Rotondo, we were struck by a gentleman who pointed out this restaurant to us and explained the menu to us from the top of the street. Amazed by this unusual situation, when in doubt we went, moved more by curiosity than by hunger, to this restaurant.Very nice and clean, 40 seats plus an outdoor area, not used due to the heat. The waiter, a real character, friendly but competent, a cross between Checco Zalone and the singer of Negroamaro, entertains customers with pirouettes and jokes and does not miss anything.Let's come to us.... 16 euros per person......Starter, two first courses, a second course, coffee and water. Typical appetizer, pity the bruschetta is not made of local bread but a white Mulino type crouton, the first courses!!!! Orecchiette with turnip tops, never eaten so good again in the whole Gargano. Orecchiette with tomato sauce and ricotta cheese, second course with grilled caciocavallo cheese with chips and salad, coffee and local limoncello. In these 2 days of my stay I ate lunch and dinner at the restaurant, spending much more but the goodness of these orecchiette with turnip greens has not been equaled by anyone.COMPLIMENTS !!!! This is how tourists are treated, well done and definitely see you next time!

An excellent trattoria in a very favorable position, a very humble and familiar place! The staff is very kind and knows how to joke and at the same time be efficient in their service! Excellent quality/price! We had 4 first courses, two second courses, two side dishes, a dessert and three coffees, two waters and half a liter of wine, spending 60! All very plentiful and very good! I will definitely be back!

Very private and nice place. Not being able to accommodate many people inside, the place offers a much more accurate service. Cheap prices, quality and quantity in the norm, menu variations are available for any reason.Parking is always accessible, both free and paid, parking is available even during peak hours. Advised.

Today 12 September I went on a pilgrimage to Padre Pio in San Giovanni Rotondo, it was the first time I returned after the lockdown, usually previously I often visited for work or devotion. I will tell you that my heart ached not to see and find the pilgrims of the past. Once the visit and the religious function were over I looked for places I already knew, to my surprise I found them all closed, searching on Google I noticed that near the church there was the "Piana Romana" restaurant when I entered to ask if it was possible to have lunch from a table with diners, a very kind lady stood up welcoming me kindly and giving me extensive explanations where to park, yes because in front of the restaurant there is a large car park with a few places available with a parking disc and many for a fee. Once we parked we entered the small but very clean place, we were greeted by a very nice and young lady and then discovered that she was the owner, Mrs "Maria"; he immediately made us feel like we were at home by offering us the tourist menu; honestly, having a job where I often eat out, I'm always wary of tourist menus, this time I changed my mind, house starter, various choice of first and second courses, wine, water, coffee and cover charge included at 16 per person. The surprise was double when we ate the dishes we had chosen, all of excellent quality and well cooked and prepared. I will definitely come back even if I don't come for work I will go with friends. I recommend it to everyone I recommend "Piana Romana". Best wishes Mrs Maria both for the name day and for the excellent service, you can see that mum Rosa has done a good job of education, after all she is a teacher.
